Monroe Mall to Host Radio Disney Hannah Montana Talent Contest, October 21 3:00pm until 5:00pm.
Monroe, NC. October 7, 2006: Monroe Mall will play host to Radio Disney’s popular Hannah Montana talent competition. The Disney Channel breakout star, Miley Cyrus stars as Hannah Montana, a preteen who lives a secret life as a pop star. Cyrus’s real life dad, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, plays her dad and manager. Miley just moved from Tennessee as a country singer and now has to adapt to life in Malibu.
She has a big secret though; she leads a double life! She is also pop star Hannah Montana! Not always being able to hang out with friends, she makes up for it in limos, premiers and celebrity sightings! Her “costume” allows her alter ego to be a kid by day and a rock star by night!
In keeping with the Hannah Montana Theme, kids will compete by coming to the event dressed as alter ego “Hannah Montana” or as simply “a rock star”. While in costume, kids will lip sync to “Best of Both Worlds”, “Who Said” or “If We Were A Movie” from the new Hannah Montana album. The contest is open to those 14 and under as of September 15, 2006.
Each local winner selected will be awarded a prize pack at the Radio Disney event hosted by Monroe Mall. Judging criteria will be based on overall performance and costume.
Each local winner will be qualified for the national sweepstakes. One grand prize winner will be randomly selected from all eligible winner entries. The winner and their family (total of 4 people) will win a trip to Los Angeles, CA to see a taping of Hannah Montana (date subject to filming schedule).
