Monroe, NC January 20, 2010: Monroe Crossing, formerly Monroe Mall has partnered with the Union County American Red Cross in efforts to raise funds for the Haiti relief campaign. The campaign will begin January 19, 2010 and will end January 26, 2010.
“This is a horrible tragedy that is affecting thousands of people and we encourage the community to help however they can,” said Sarah Enten, marketing director for Monroe Crossing.
In response to the crisis caused by earthquakes in Haiti, Monroe Crossing will be collecting donations at the following locations:
Monday-Friday- Front entrance of the mall from 10am-2pm Zoey’s Pretzel from 2pm-7pm Saturday- Front entrance of the mall from 11am-3pm Zoey’s Pretzel from 3pm-7pm Sunday- Front entrance of the mall from 1pm-5pm
“I recently accepted a part time job after losing my job back in October that requires me to work on Sunday. Since I am unable to attend church, I have decided to give what I make on that day back to the community,” said a woman giving a donation at the front entrance of Monroe Crossing.
In addition to collecting funds, donors have the opportunity to write their name or a loved ones name on an American Red Cross Hero Card and will be added to our Hero wall located at the front entrance of the mall.
